As I'm rewatching Star Trek: The Original Series, I cannot stop but grin each time that Dr. McCoy says "He's dead, Jim."
Here's a breakdown of the episodes in Star Trek: The Original Series where Dr. McCoy says “He's dead, Jim” or a similar variant:
"The Enemy Within" (Season 1, Episode 5) – McCoy says "He's dead, Jim" when referring to a dog-like creature.
"Miri" (Season 1, Episode 8) – McCoy states, "He's dead," while examining a man.
"The Conscience of the King" (Season 1, Episode 13) – He says "He's dead, Jim," when checking a body.
"The Galileo Seven" (Season 1, Episode 16) – McCoy uses the phrase after a crew member dies.
"The Return of the Archons" (Season 1, Episode 21) – McCoy says "He's dead, Captain" after investigating a body.
"A Taste of Armageddon" (Season 1, Episode 23) – A simple "He's dead" is used by McCoy.
"The Devil in the Dark" (Season 1, Episode 26) – McCoy says "He's dead, Jim" after one of the miners dies.
"The Changeling" (Season 2, Episode 3) – McCoy confirms "He's dead, Jim" when dealing with a crew member.
"Friday's Child" (Season 2, Episode 11) – He tells Kirk, "He's dead, Jim" after examining a Klingon.
"Wolf in the Fold" (Season 2, Episode 14) – McCoy says "He's dead" while investigating a murder.
"The Immunity Syndrome" (Season 2, Episode 18) – McCoy says "They're dead" about a Vulcan crew.
"The Omega Glory" (Season 2, Episode 23) – McCoy uses "He's dead" after an inspection.
"Spectre of the Gun" (Season 3, Episode 6) – He declares, "They're dead, Jim," when discussing characters in a simulated reality.
"The Tholian Web" (Season 3, Episode 9) – McCoy says "He's dead, Jim" when talking about Captain Kirk, though it's later revealed he's not dead.
"The Lights of Zetar" (Season 3, Episode 18) – McCoy says, "She's dead."
These are the key instances where McCoy utters the iconic line. He often says variations like "he's dead" or even refers to groups as "they're dead" throughout the series, making him one of the most quotable characters in Star Trek.
