CBS released the trailer of the second season from Stark Trek: Discovery. Watch it below:

More Picard? Yes, please! The Starfleet Academy show is an idea that has been around for decades, it might be interesting! But it all depends how it's done... I'm not a big fan of Kurtzman's productions -- this all sounds very heavy and "mainstream-ized". They'd better focus on making an interesting series instead of getting ahead of themselves and create a thousand spin-offs, like Star Wars or Marvel or DC (interestingly, Kurtzman is also in developing the DC movies for Universal!). I'll focus on The Next Generation for now -- the looks of Discovery don't attract me much.

The Star Trek: Discovery series went into many production problems. Original showrunner Brian Fuller left the series, only to be replaced by Gretchen Berg and Aaron Harberts, who were also fired recently. CBS has decided to give the reins to Alex Kurtzman. But not only that, Kurtzman is actually getting an exclusive five-year deal and will oversee not only the production of Star Trek: Discovery, but all the TV Star Trek projects, including a Starfleet Academy show, a limited series based on the Wrath of Khan story, as well as a limited series and an animated series. Some are even projecting that actor Patrick Stewart could return as Jean-Luc Picard. But there is no confirmation from CBS Television Studios. Whatever happens, this proves that Star Trek is far from leaving the TV screen.
