Omar's end
One of the best episode of the show. Omar was an iconic figure. I really thought that he was immortal.... But he was killed by a child when he wanted to buy a drink. This was at the same time sad and surprising.

You gotta keep the devil down in the hole
The final episode of The Wire concludes nicely all the ties at the very end, in a very elegant and interesting way.
The truth is finally out, at least in some inner circles. And it feels like a big relieve. This makes for a nice way to get a true conclusion of the characters, especially McNulty and Lester Freamon.
THE END OF A JOURNEY
This is the end of my journey into the world of (West) Baltimore. But maybe it isn't. Even though there should be no nostalgia in the game, I am sure I will come back to this world, a little more intelligent and I will surely enjoy the series better. Because watching The Wire is not like watching any other series. For instance, I don't recall a single bad episode. Can you refer to some other series with the same?
You know, I have seen many series in my days. In standard tv series, Kima would have slept with McNulty, under the influence. McNuly would have been kidnaped and Bunk would have gone searching for him. Lester would have died during a season finale. Carv and Herc would have gotten into an argument and would have fought each others. Scott the journalist would have been killed. Carcetti would have killed someone. Beanie would have taken drugs. And so on.
And while we get our quick fix of action and drama, we actually usually get nothing out of it, at the end. Most tv series are exactly that, empty calories. When you drink 'em, you feel this rush of pleasure going through your veins and popping in your eyes sockets like the first sip of a fresh original Coke. But soon after, you realize that you have been duped. There was an empty promise. You felt good for a short while but for what? Suddenly, you see the fat accumulating from the long hours of watching it. And you have gain nothing but fat. In The Wire, I gained a new framework about something far more interesting than any "Previously on..." typical series. I gained a new vision and even a framework on keeping the devil in the hole of any system. Fear the system, because it can suck you up.
THE SYSTEM
I will use one very interesting fact. There is no bullet ever shot from our main cast of detectives. Only Prez used his gun in the entire series. Once again, I dare anyone to find another police series with the same. But this proves one thing, The Wire is actually not a police series. To me, after having thought a lot about it, I think that The Wire is not about police, not about drugs, not about politics, not even about Baltimore. It is all that but above it, it is about the system. And in any system that is put in place, the devil comes out of it. It can be any type or organization, whether a public office, a corporate company, a union, a journal and even in a place like a school. This relates to all of us because we all know how the devil comes out of it. And we all have been faced with our own morale. How do we face the devil? Do we keep it down the hole? Do we let it out entirely? Do we let is slip once in a while, in a controlled effort? That is really a fascinating theme that was beautifully treated in this piece of art.
STATUES
It was a sublime shot to see again the famous statues from the very first season.
MARLO
I just loved the shot of Marlo leaving the fancy dinner in order to go out and own a corner.
SUMMARY
An outstanding series finale. I give it 9 out of 10.

It's the journey, not the destination
This is an excellent episode, where Marlo finally gets behind bars.
LESTER
Lester was definitely the man of the hour there. It was also quite fun seeing him drunk - for the first time - , celebrating their success.
REGINALD
The scene of Reginald opening up fully for the very first time to the group was extremely moving. I must say I dropped one little tear and it was a tear of both sadness and hope.
SUMMARY
An excellent penultimate episode. I give it 7 out of 10.

Omar's fate
OMAR'S FATE
When I saw Omar passing by the young kid, I immediately imagined that the kid may hit him. Therefore, I was not particularly surprised by the ending. But whether I was surprised or not, the ending was really well executed (no pun intended). It made perfect sense that after all that happened, Omar could never be killed by anyone. And at the end, it's a baby boy who shoots him. Very clever.
PROFILE
At one point, the FBI is sharing their behavioural analysis of the killer. This is one of the funniest scenes of the entire series. The analysis represents exactly McNulty. His reaction is really priceless.
SUMMARY
I give it 7 out of 10. Excellent.

This episode is great, as usual. In it, we discover that Omar is still alive and continues his pursue of Marlo.

Everything is perfect
Everything is perfect in this episode, once again. All the elements are elegantly written and executed.
What do we get? Just perfection:
- Great journalism scenes,
- great scenes between McNulty and Lester,
- great scenes between McNulty and his ex-wife,
- great scenes about Duke trying to get tough,
- great scenes about Omar trying to get his revenge,
- great scenes about getting the number of Marlo,
- great scenes about Bubs not being able to move forward and hanging onto his past,
- and the utmost fucking fun scenes of McNulty discovering that the reporters are even sicker than he his!
- etc. etc.
There is also a beautiful quote that summarizes it all. Duke is asking: "how do you get from here to the rest of the world?" Just beautiful.
SUMMARY
An outstanding episode. Of course. 9 out of 10.

Things matter
Once again, a great episode of a great beginning of a season. I liked every single interaction.
After all this time talking about Burrell's demise, we finally get to witness it. I also liked the speech of Burrell when he leaves his office. He says that when a new Mayor is coming up, he doesn't tells the teachers how to do their job, he doesn't tell the city employees how to pick up the trash. But when it comes to police, suddenly he knows all about it and calls the shots.
Meanwhile, there's a great scene between Sergeant Ellis Carver and Herc. You can clearly see the evolution of Ellis, who is now a Sergeant and actually cares about things.
And the final scene of Joe's death was outstanding.
SUMMARY
A great episode. I give it 8 out of 10.

Outstanding
With that episode, everything is perfect. Music, plot, crew, the ending...
This episode presents all the best things we can find in the show.
9/10, but in regards of 20 minutes show, maybe it can become a 10 one day.

Best Series Finale Ever
Everything was perfect in this episode. Alan Ball knows what mourning is. And he works on it since American Beauty I would say.
That's why it works so well. I cried the first time I saw this episode, because it helps me a lot on my personal grief. Alan Ball helped me to accept and understand it and I'm sure Six Feet Under helped a lot of others guys like me.
Thank you Alan Ball.
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine:
The Quickening (4x23)
Pike March 11, 2018, 12:03 ET
Underwhelming
SCOPE
The relatively big scope of the episode is only logical, being the season finale. Therefore, we get to see an adventure with the President of the United States.
TOO MUCH DIALOGUE
On the other side, I think that there was too much dialogue. Therefore, it was difficult to feel any sort of emotions. For instance, when Jerry and Beth kiss, they talk so much that it actually reduces the impact of the scene.
NOT AS INTELLIGENT AS USUAL
Meanwhile, the episode is not as intelligent as usual. If we compare it with the season finale from season 2 and the season premiere from season 3, this one is clearly not on the same level.
EITHER EXCELLENT OR AVERAGE
To summarize, now that I have watched all three seasons of the series, I feel that the series is either excellent, or average. It is different from some other series, such as The X-Files, where the episodes are usually either outstanding or horrendous.
NOT A GREAT SEASON FINALE
As a season finale, I even more so disliked it. There was no cliffhanger whatsoever. And the way Jerry came back into the family was rushed and not compelling enough. There was no clear reasons for Beth to take him back.
SUMMARY
I give the episode 4 out of 10. It doesn’t really do the job of a season finale.

Worst of the season (by far)
MEH
For the first time in this awesome third season, I did not like an episode. While it was great to finally see Jerry back with his kids, the underlying story was quite a downer.
ADVENTURE
And the adventure of Beth in this fantasy world was not appealing to me either.
SUMMARY
I give it 3 out of 10. Bad. The worst episode of the third season.

GOOD CONCEPT
I liked the concept of the episode. The memories were fun.
WILD
There are so many ideas in this episode, this just shows how original the series is. Rick and Morty is no ordinary show.
SUMMARY

The best episode of the first three seasons
(This review contains major spoilers!)
MUSICALLY PERFECT
The episode is very interesting, as well as musically emotional. I just loved the soundtrack of that episode.
EVIL MORTY
I hoped to see the return of Evil Morty, but I have to say that I clearly did not anticipate that the friendly and hopeful campaigning Morty would be the one. This was pure genius and I loved every minute of it. I have only one wish, to rewatch the entire episode, which I'm sure I'll appreciate even more knowing the twist.
20 MINUTES?!
The episode doesn’t even last half an hour, but it is dense.
SUMMARY
An outstanding episode. I give it 9 out of 10. Without any doubt, the best episode of the series so far.

PERFECT START
The opening scene was brilliant. Especially the part where at the end of their adventure, Rick and Morty are freaking out and want to relax.
MAIN ADVENTURE
And of course, Rick and Morty being Rick and Morty (actually, not really in that episode), there is an adventure anyway.
SUMMARY
An excellent episode. I give it 7 out of 10.

Rick and Jerry adventure
JERRY
This episode is a Rick and Jerry adventure. After Jerry left the house in S03E02, it felt really good to see him again in this S03E05. It was even a logical move to have him appearing again. The opening scene where we get to see his new daily life was really sad and I enjoyed to watch it. I would even say that I would have no problem watching Rick and Morty based only on the lives of the family.
ADVENTURE
The adventure is fun.
SUMMARY
A very good episode featuring Jerry, back into the series after being absent in two episodes. I give it 6 out of 10.

I really enjoyed this episode, which is a kind of mix between The Avengers and Saw. I was amazed by the quality of those superheroes. Ghost train and the ant man (or should I say, ants man) were terrific!

Best episode so far
SIMPLY THE BEST
This episode, with its excellent concept, is my favorite episode of the show so far.
PSYCHOLOGY
I simply loved the way the relationship between Rick and his daughter was approached here.
DIE HARD
Funny enough, when the episode starts, you would never imagine that Rick as a pickle would actually have such an elaborate and action packed adventure! This episode is like a crossover between Rick and Morty and Die Hard! It felt great and the gore scenes were adding a kind of originality to it all.
EPILOGUE
Finally, it may seem like nothing, and the post-credits scene was very short, but I really, I mean really loved it. Rick and Morty stucked in a grand piano, waiting for their death just before Jaguar arrives. It was just grandiose. It could have easily been an episode on its own. Imagine this, a dark melomaniac killing his victims in his instruments. Just insanely great.
SUMMARY
One of my favourite episodes of Rick and Morty. I give it 8 out of 10.

The Arm
MAD MAX PARODY
The summary of the episode can be made in three words: Mad Max parody.
A STRAIGHT STORY
Also, the story is much simpler than in the previous episode. This makes for a nicer experience as an audience.
THE ARM
I loved the story of the Morty’s arm. That was equally great and dark.
DIVORCE
Meanwhile, I enjoyed much more than I should the divorce of Jerry and Beth. The reason behind it is that it is extremely rare for a tv series when the main characters are living something that moves the story forward. And even more in cartoons. Usually, the characters stay the same throughout the series, wear the same clothes and never age. Therefore, any evolution to the characters are usually reset the week after when the new episode starts.
And for some reasons, I just really appreciate Jerry’s character.
SUMMARY
I give it 7 out of 10. Excellent.

Perfect series finale
PERFECT SERIES FINALE
Perfect series finale are very rare in series. Most of the exceptional series tend to run past their quality time and ultimately suffer from their high quality. Not Six Feet Under, who's got the perfect amount of season (the magical number is always five) and delivers a perfect series finale, in a similar fashion that Breaking Bad did.
In both Breaking Bad and Six Feet Under, the series finales are actually an epilogue. The biggest "action", or better said the resolution act is done in the previous two episodes. In Breaking Bad (spoiler alert), Ozymandias (S05E14) is having all the resolutions of the series. The next episode (Granite State, S05E15) was simply preparing the state for the final episode. In Six Feet Under, we get the exact same thing. The episode Ecotone (S05E09) is ending with the death of Nate. Episodes S05E10 and 11 (All Alone and Static) are about the characters having to personally deal with his death. And then, S05E12 Everyone's Waiting is arriving with the epilogue of not only this story arc, but the series itself and actually goes way beyond that.
CODA
The summary of the series could easily be that we all die. Therefore, Carpe Diem. This may sound utterly simple, but that is the reality of life and we usually tend to realize it way too late.
The final scene is clearly a coda, in a sense that the orchestra brings the concerto to an end. Claire leaves her family, takes her car through the nearby street and suddenly it starts, with the reflection of Nate running in her wing mirror. From that moment, the audience is taken to the ultimate voyage of all time. Even if totally different, it felt the same way as living the end voyage from Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey or Christopher Nolan's Interstellar. In all of those, we get to go beyond ourselves, beyond time and ultimately beyond death itself.
SUMMARY
A profound series finale that beautifully end one of the best series of all time. A real masterpiece. I give it 10 out of 10. The best episode of the series.

Roller coaster
DENSE
The Rickshank Rickdemption is without any doubt the best episode of Rick and Morty so far. There are so many things in just twenty-three minute episodes that it is it even difficult to start somewhere.
ROLLER COASTER
As an audience, we get to go from moments to moments without knowing what's right and what's false. There are true memories, intertwined with fake origin stories. I just loved being balanced from one side to the other, while the main story is clearly moving forward at the same time.
9 MORE SEASONS
At the end of the episode, Rick is running wild and stating that the only thing he cares about, his long term plan, is to find again the special Mulan's McDonald's McNuggets sauce. He even go so far as to say that it will take nine seasons. If the writers and producers are able to pull that one off, that will be one of the longest twist ever produced in the history of television (along Laura Palmer saying to Agent Cooper that they will see each others in 25 years in Twin Peaks). I have written this review in 2018. I wonder if my future me will edit this review and confirm that this became true.
A MESSAGE IN THE BOTTLE FROM PAST ME TO FUTURE ME
Also, I use this opportunity to send myself a message from the past to the future, in the form of a digital message in a bottle:
- Donald Trump is currently the President of the United States, in his first term.
- I wonder how the election from 2020 will look like. I say Trump will be re-elected.
- The stock market is at its most time high. Apple stock is at $180 and has a market value of 913B. I am sure that by 2027, it will pass the 1 trillion dollar mark, making the only company in the world to achieve such financial result.
- The latest iPhone is called the iPhone X. I wonder if Apple will be able to continue to innovate for so many years, now that the phone is virtually almost buttonless.
- Meanwhile, North Korea has agreed to denuclearize its country. I wonder if that will last even a few months.
- I wonder if The X-Files will be rebooted by that time.
- I wonder if tvore.com will become successful as a Website, as currently we only have about three or four reviewers, including me.
- The US national debt is at 20.86 trillion dollars.

EMOTIONS
In this season finale, there are emotions. Rick is learning that his family deeply cares about him and decides to do the ultimate sacrifice in order for them to be safe and be able to go back on Earth. I liked the images as well as the cover of Johnny Cash's Dirt song.
POST-CREDITS SCENE
I also liked the final post-credits scene.

Excellent concept!
EXCELLENT CONCEPT
I found the concept of this episode very interesting and original. I must say I really admire the writers for such job. The series is very complex and it must be quite overwhelming to have to start writing an episode from a blank page, as the limits of the series are actually limitless.
The concept of the multiple universes within universes was excellent and very imaginative. Rick builds an entire Universe of slaves. And the extremely funny thing is that the slaves - which are not aware of being slaves - actually do the exact same thing and build a Universe of slaves. And of course, those slaves are also working on the same.
SUMMER
Meanwhile, Summer's side story is also compelling.
GUEST STAR
I instantly recognized Stephen Colbert's voice for the Zeep character. As a big fan of Colbert, I really appreciated to see - or actually hear - him.

Shocking ending!
FUN!
I really liked this episode. Lots of fun killings, the story of the parasites providing flashbacks was fun.
And the substory of Sleepy Jerry was also interesting.
PARASITES
The parasites story was great. My favourite parasite was without any doubt the braveheart character. Yes, if you watch it carefully, you can see William Wallace! I guess he did not have his freedom after all.
SHOCKING ENDING
Finally, the ending scene is shockingly perfect. And it couldn't be otherwise. It was just logical that the last killing would actually be a real person.

TWO BORING STORIES
I did not like this episode. Both the stories (the planet with blue people and Beth and Jerry in the basement) were not compelling to me.

AN UN-UNSIKABLE SHIP
As a big Titanic fan (I know...), I particularly enjoyed the scenes of the re-enactment of the boat’s sinking. And I found very original that the boat is actually failing by not sinking. This is typical Rick and Morty counter-intuitive originality.
SUMMARY

A mythology show!?
A MYTHOLOGY SHOW?!
I clearly did not expect to witness a mythology show when watching the first episodes of Rick and Morty. The episodes 1, 3, 4 and 5 did not impress me.
And then, suddenly, the episode Rick Potion #9 started to put in place the foundations of a mythology. A mythology that becomes very ambitious in Close Rick-counters of the Rick Kind.
In a way, I am back in my first love in series, such as Quantum Leap. I loved fresh and sunny stories with fun mythology twists.
THE MORTYEST OF MORTY
This episode is exactly that, with the introduction of the mortyest of Morty, the Evil Morty. I just instantly loved the character and just hope that we’ll see more of him in the future.

This episode is a great excuse for the screenwriters to go wild and develop crazy tv concepts. I found the concept of the episode very interesting from the start. Evil Morty for the win !
First appearance of fans favourite Evil Morty and his outstanding theme song. It is in fact Blonde Redhead, For the Damaged Coda.
We can also heard the music Jerry's Rick after the credits, another great theme.
A strong mythologic episode reintroducing the destructive nihilism of Rick and the question of identity in a multiverse. It introduce perfectly great episodes of season 2 and 3.
